Gone home....

Our sweet Caroline peacefully departed from this world last night, February 1st at 10:56 pm. She was surrounded by her loving caregiver and husband, Larry; all three of her children- Brian, Lisa, and Mark; Mark's wife Lisa; her sister Pam and her niece Kelly. We will have more information regarding funeral arrangements later today. In the following week I will share more of the experience of her peaceful passing.

A few weeks ago we found an audio recording of her tender voice so we set it to music and some of our favorite memories of her below:

  2. I am so sorry for your families loss. Caroline was such, IS such a wonderful person. I've known her for a few short years but I grew to love her in that time. This was a beautiful video and I loved hearing her voice and testimony. I have no doubt that she was swarmed with anxious souls wanting to hug in thanks for doing their temple work. Love you Caroline.

  24. This is my first blog comment at any site and my words cannot express the gratitude that I have for our sweet Caroline’s example of courage, dignity, strength and peace throughout her entire journey with ALS.
Although emotionally hard on us, we would often peer into her blogs because we care and wanted to see where she was with her battle. And we have always been inspired and impressed by the same attributes found in Caroline to also be found in Lisa, Larry, Brian and Mark.

From our very first sacrament meeting in a new ward, Caroline was the first to greet us, take us to our classroom and introduce us to the ward. Her smile and her joyful spirit will always be in our minds and hearts forever.

We’re grateful to have been a small part of her life,

  32. We will miss seeing sister Caroline's spunky, sweet personality, but we will keep it in our hearts and minds. April said it is easy to see why Bishop Rober fell in love with sister Caroline. We remember her running around during a game last Valentines Day party. That memory makes us smile. The tribute was perfect, thoroughly heart warming. Your family is such an inspiration. We wish you peace and comfort.

  38. To Larry .. It's is hard to beleive that the vivacious Caroline we saw in July has left this world. I shall always remember her as a creative wonderful friend.. always helping me with the Young Women when I was President. And I will always remmber the Christmas decorations in every nook of the house.
To Lisa .. I don't know if you remember me, but I remenber a darling little girl. Seeing in some of the pixtgures, Sister Palmer thinks you are as lovely as your Mother. Know that we are thinking about all of you and send our love to all of you. Wish we could be there to give you a hug.

  39. No words can express the deep sorrow that prevails over the passing life of our dear Missy. She was truly an Angel on Earth, and now an Angel in Heaven. I can picture her now, meeting up with some passed-on distant relatives, questioning them on their lives, to finally complete some unfinished genealogy task. That picture puts a smile on my face! Missy told me that was one of her goals once she arrived in Heaven, and I am sure she wasted no time, and started right to work! She will be enormously missed! Our selfishness would have wished Missy could have stayed with us longer. The true blessing is she is no longer suffering from this terrible disease. Missy is at peace with our Lord Savior!! Our love and prayers are with you: Larry, Brian, Lisa and Mark and your extended family; with Missy’s dear sister, Pam and family; and with all the other extended family members, and friends. As we pray for the comfort of the Rober family and friends, let us also pray to find a cure for ALS, and other diseases that have taken our loved ones away too soon! Love, Cousin Sharon & family

  41. Caroline (or Sister Rober as we knew her), had been invited to help our stake with Family History training on a number of occasions. She was always willing to assist and came prepared not only with the necessary skills, but with an ability to work with the members of the stake who had the ability to present her with a myriad of questions.

My wife and I also had the pleasure of obtaining some assistance from Caroline during one of her last times that she worked at the FH History in Orange. She was gracious, and in spite of her situation, was very helpful.

Our prayers are with the family.

    Sincerely,

    Bro Mickelsen
